about

BLOOM/BRUISE serves as a condensed memoir of a long and drawn out coming of age. These songs were cherry picked from my catalog created over the last 6 years. I wrote because I was broken, because I no longer believed, and finally, because I found something to believe in again.

Track Name: Monsters
Sugarcane masquerade, this puppet show
covers the places where we feel hollow
black like a sharp note and sharp like control
the monsters and mysteries beneath my shadow

Just like in the movies
with the monsters and mysteries
I thought you'd never love me
with my monsters and mysteries

Sand laced on ankles threaded with thrill
sunk like a bullet I lost all my will
but the shatter of glass is the anthem of night
we love in fear and we cradle our fight

And you're probably fighting with your monsters too
the countless repressions you guard and subdue
the double entendre we used to confuse
we thought that they meant to say
"I love you"
oh- they said I love you

So kick me when I'm down as if I needed you
to tell me all of my faults
I'll just pretend it doesn't hurt and let you go
Track Name: Pressing on Bruises
I won't tell if you won't
I won't say a word
I won't tell if you won't
It's our secret, Hell on Earth

Pressing on bruises when you ask me, "Dear, why are you holding back when you should hold me near?"
Pressing on bruises, get me out of here
And I'm still shouting into empty spaces, shouting into empty spaces
please don't make it worse

Pressing on bruises

Pressing on Bruises when you ask me, "Dear, Why are you holding back when you should hold me near?"
Pressing on bruises when its been ten years and I'm still watching all your artwork on this tired body disappear
please don't make it worse

pressing on bruises

pressing on bruises

I won't tell if you won't
I won't say a word
I won't tell if you won't
Its our secret:
Hell on Earth.
Track Name: Bloom
There is a song in a lover's daydream
spinning webs of sheer delight
and to you I'm the greatest sensation, the blossom of your eye
We've been hiding since we found our trembling freedom safe and sound
a soft incandescence of exchanged acceptance
to you, was it worth the fight

We were singing lover's tunes
We were singing lover's tunes
We were singing lover's tunes, lover's tunes, lovers in bloom.

So we crooned what we contrived, our senses had arrived
in the woods, our promises hid
with the rising action
the plot we would twist
the fall of Rome
the goodbye kiss
our history collections
the sound of sweet exhaustion
the marks you left on my hips
so struggle no more with the demons you bore when they ask, "Is it worth the fight?" worth the fight

Slingshot your last from the floor of rock bottom
we slept through summer and woke up in Autumn
bloom like mycelium, we are one body
bloom like the heroes needed by our country
needed by our country
Track Name: Genesis
All of the blankets your parents left
built a mansion from a useless mess
we were smoking candy cigarettes
frozen, exhale your smoke.
Show me the creature of your spirit
We becam illiterate
turning pages, turn against my neck
fold your limbs in our nest

oh my, oh my, fragile like the bills we break
oh my, oh my, carbonated body shake

rest arrest your hesitance,
We've paid our debts, we genesis
rest arrest, your hesitance
we;ve paid our debts we
Genesis

You push the karma in a spin cyclee
brushed against ourr mingled souls
kept every revolution full
till the last heat of Summer

We recognized portraits of mometous
heaps and heaps of evidence
swore an oath to present tense
and the last leaves of Autumn

Now I'm scared like we're sacred, scarred by our scars
our bruises turn indigo and fade away harm now
I'm scared like we're sacred
swallowed by sounds
of bruises like seaweed, limp, lay on our arms
